It is possible to turn the needle threader into the handle to protect it when it's not in use. The opposite end is blunt. The handle is made of local walnut wood cut in Hjellestad south of Bergen. It is finished with Melamine lacquer and Hampshire Sheen's Pen turners overcoat. It comes in a black velvet bag.
